Fourteen months ago, Juan Felipe Lozano Castro was a corporate intern at another company. Today, he is a newly promoted Manager at Dialectica, leading a team of four within one of the largest strategic accounts in our Bogota office.

Juan Felipe’s rise is a masterclass in career velocity. A natural brand ambassador who thrives on intercultural communication, he came to Dialectica with an overachiever mindset and a clear mission: "building a high performing culture one mind at a time."

Here is how he channels that mentality into leadership, redefines ownership, and thrives in an environment certified as a Great Place to Work.

You moved from Associate to Manager in record time. What was the biggest catalyst for your rapid growth here?

It is a mix of mindset, getting out of your comfort zone daily, and a constant willingness to learn. Early on, I learned from the top performers around me and adopted their best practices to build my own "top performing mindset." This job requires persistence, critical thinking, and the ability to pivot your behavior when things change. Most of all, it is about putting people first: your clients, your team, and your experts.

How do you scale a high performing mindset now that you lead a team for one of Bogota's biggest accounts?

This job is all about mindset. If you have the will and the skill, and you truly believe you can make things happen, you will. I try to help my team see the bigger picture and understand the "why" behind their work. To me, a high performing team is about consistently raising the bar with a winning attitude and prioritizing effectively. In this role, 80% of your results come from 20% of your focused efforts when you know what you are doing.

Moving from Associate to Manager is a massive shift. How did Dialectica’s leadership support you?

Leadership was the main pillar of my rapid scaling. From my direct manager, who has been my biggest supporter and promoter, to the other leaders in the office, I have always had guidance. The key is to learn from those around you while staying true to yourself. If you take on challenges, ask questions, and think critically about the guidance you are given, you completely level up your game.

You consistently overachieved on your KPIs right from month one. How did a Growth Mindset help you overcome the learning curve?

A growth mindset requires accountability, humility, and a willingness to accept feedback and pivot when things are not working. You cannot just show up to do your job. You have to come ready to learn, make mistakes, and uncover selling opportunities. Achieving great KPIs is just the end result of following a thorough process.

At Dialectica, "Ownership" is a core value. How did you demonstrate this as an Associate?

Ownership is all about accountability and having a "no excuse" mindset. From day one, I made it a point to own both my wins and my mistakes. This job is fast and dynamic, but we cannot blame external factors for what we fail to achieve. You have to understand the root cause of a problem and find a diligent solution. Embracing that level of responsibility is what ultimately prepares you for leadership.

In your eyes, what truly sets the Dialectica Colombia culture apart and makes it a Great Place to Work?

It's the mix of teamwork and growth mindset, and how genuinely everyone here embodies those values. In a fast paced environment, it is easy to get lost in the day to day. But when you connect your daily tasks to a higher purpose and collaborate to solve tough problems, that is when our DNA shines.

Plus, the career velocity here is unmatched. Just 14 months ago, I was an intern at another company. Today, I have four direct reports and run a unit within one of our largest accounts. When you pair that kind of growth with amazing perks and a supportive team, it truly stands out.

They say high performance and a supportive culture do not always mix. How does teamwork look on your team when the pace is fast?

I actually think it is the exact opposite. Nobody can sustain high performance if they are working entirely by themselves. On our team, teamwork means stepping up for each other, holding one another accountable, and pulling together toward a common goal while keeping a people first attitude.

For a prospective candidate who matches your level of ambition, what is your number one piece of advice?

Bring a top notch attitude and a sharp sense of critical thinking. If you show up with a willingness to learn, navigate tough situations, and learn from your mistakes, you already have 50% of your career growth secured. The other 50% comes from anticipating your client's needs, finding solutions rather than just pointing out problems, and actively making your manager's job easier. Look for the bigger picture from day one.
