From the Mats to the Markets: Samuel Felix's Path at Dialectica

What could bring a martial arts coach at Silvertooth Gym into the fast‑paced world of a top global player in the B2B information services market? The answer is simpler than you might think. The values were already there - Dialectica just gave them a new arena.
We sat down with Samuel Felix, our recently promoted Manager in the Montreal office, to talk about discipline, fun, and the white‑belt philosophy that shapes his every day.
Can you tell us about your career journey before joining Dialectica?
Prior to Dialectica, I was coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai while also running sports events such as kickboxing competitions. I felt that these experiences taught me perseverance, consistency, and honest hard work, values that I now apply every day at Dialectica.

What does a typical day look like for you?
I laugh until my face hurts with my team while connecting with experts from all over the world, learning something new every day. There is something rare about a workplace where genuine laughter and serious intellectual curiosity coexist, and at Dialectica, that is simply the default. Every conversation brings a different perspective, a different industry, a different way of thinking about a problem.
What’s different about working here compared to your previous experiences?
Dialectica rewards me for bringing my full, authentic personality to the desk. It’s a rare environment where I’ve been able to develop myself both personally and professionally.
What’s your favorite part about working at Dialectica?
The people, no doubt. My success is only a reflection of what I learn from the team of beasts around me. And when I say beasts, I mean it in the best possible way: people who are exceptionally good at what they do, who push themselves and everyone around them without making it feel like pressure. They are sharp, generous with their knowledge, and genuinely invested in each other’s growth. Being surrounded by that kind of talent every day does something to you.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career at Dialectica?
Just like on the mats or in the ring, leave your ego at the door. Never stop learning from all the amazing people around you. Everyone in the room has something that makes them great, so soak it all up. Live and die as a white belt.
The Path Ahead
Samuel’s journey from the mats to the markets is more than a compelling story, it’s a blueprint. It shows what happens when someone arrives at Dialectica with strong values, genuine curiosity, and the humility to keep learning. The role rewards all three in equal measure.
As Dialectica continues to grow across its global offices, it is people like Samuel who carry the culture forward, not through titles or tenure, but through the way they show up every single day. In every arena, that mindset makes all the difference.
